Hungry Skinny, Strange Hotel and Hibbity Dibbity at the Elbo Room!
Three of my personal favorite bands from San Francisco are on the same bill at the Elbo Room tonight. This a GUARANTEED RAGER!
Hungry Skinny is a rock and roll band from San Francisco, California. The band - comprised of Garrett Riley (vocals/guitar), Sean Russo (vocals/bass), Ty Thorpe (drums), and Remy Vale (guitar) - formed in San Francisco's tenderloin district in 2011. They have recorded and released 3 EP's withLight Rail Studios; "Ain't Walkin' You Home", "Nobody Cares", and "Birth & A Murder". Hungry Skinny will release their self-titled debut album on Vinyl on September 26th, 2015.
Hungry Skinny has headlined the Great American Music Hall and played other SF venues The Independent, The Chapel, Cafe Du Nord, Rickshaw Stop, and Slim's multiple times. They have toured the Pacific Northwest four times and are set to do a national tour behind their record in November 2015.
Strange Hotel is a San Francisco based, four-piece Rock band. The band is consisted of lead singer and guitarist Frank Abreau Salazar, guitarist Sean Reilly, drummer Timi Aristil, and Myles Deiaco on bass. Their distinct range of musical influences and taste for art collides, creating a relatable and unique interpretation of music. Some call their colorful yet sometimes dark approach, “Gothedelic”. Along with rocking out, they don't shy away from embracing the simplicity of an acoustic composition and the assurance it carries.
San Francisco's premier vibrational connectors, Hibbity Dibbity, have been forging their way into public consciousness since 2012. These "Swamp-funk" pioneers were baptized in the barrel of the blues, and carry forth the spirit. As Mary Lindsay Dickinson, mother of the North Mississippi Allstars describes, "a classy blues strut mixed with 22nd century push!"
